Biography

Linda (Svetlana Geyman) was born April 29, 1975, at Kentay little Greek town on boarder of Kazakhstan & China. By the age of 15 her family moved to Moscow. Even early in school Linda got involved in music and was accepted to prestigious Gnessinki Academy on vocal major. Her parents weren't happy about her decision because they wanted her to be a lawyer just like her sister. At first she was hiding studying at academy. Then her parents agreed to support on her decision to be a singer.

First big concert was in St.Peterburg in December of 1995 and Linda went on first tour as a main event. She travels thru out entire Russia on very first tour.
One day Linda was listening to Peter Gabriel CD Passion. According to Linda that CD blew her mind and she started to listen Bjork, Shinned O'Connor including ethnic Chinese, Japanese & Tibetian music.

Her fame became with release of "Vorona," record-breaking CD sales sellout venues on massive tour. The song "Severny Veter" was recorded with choir of Scotland Grandmothers but song "Nikogda" with Children Choir that was trying so hard to sound good so it became clean and honest tune. The title song "Vorona" was created with help of friends & music specialists using 17 rare & exotic folk musical instruments from Scotland, England, and Germany & Norway. Some of the musicians were involved in recording of few Enigma CD's.

During the tour there were all kinds of incidents. Sellout stadiums, Special Unit of Militia with riot gear was called in for security during some of performances to deal with uncontrollable crowds. In Odessa traffic stopped downtown and mob of fans almost created riot because selected few were able to get passes to invitation only, rare performance in a small venue. Following a trip & fall on stage during concert tour of Ukraine she broke 3 toes but it was just the beginning. During making of video "Vzgliad Iznutri" Linda fractured few ribs but didn't realize till few days later. At least video was shot in the futuristic theme using hi-tech and immediately became top 20 MTV Russia.

When VMC label became interested in signing up a young artist. The label president Thomas Stein arrived in Russia to personally sign up Linda for 3 albums, 6 singles contract. Decision was made after group of VMC executives with label president attended 4 live performances. First Linda's CD is coming soon to European record stores and it would take a place alphabetically right next to Kyle Minouge. At first she was going to name new CD "Balance" but it became name of next single and CD was named "Visions." In 2000 big changes became a reality. One of the key figures in Linda success, musician, songwriter and producer Max Fadeev decided to leave the band and work on his own project. Everyone wondered what is next for Linda. It had to be continued and it did. In a fall of same year she got together with musicians of "Convoy" band and recorded new album. This time not just a singer but as songwriter as well. Linda on stage feels like totally different person and can be wild at times but in real life she is shy & quiet. Some artist want whole world to know everything about them but Linda's life like a closed door and very successful and mysterious. Sometimes it seems that that door closing on purpose. Who is Linda? That question is still unanswered. She still remains on of the popular singers in Russia, still performs in front of thousands, and well loved not only home but also abroad.
