Better known
to his legion of fans as DJ Boris, Boris Inzhin
is drawing crowds to New York City's Exit every
Saturday night. Formerly from the infamous "Big
Friday Party" at the Roxy from September
1998 to November 1999 and the legendary Limelight.
Boris' progressive house tracks and pulse-pounding
beats literally keep club attendees on their feet
'til 9:00am Sunday morning.
What's the secret to Boris' infectious grooves?
Years of first-hand experience scouring the New
York City club scene. In 1990, Boris' hard work
had finally paid off with his first residency
at Tilt. It wasn't long before the New York scene
took notice of his innovative spinning flavor.
Boris went on to spin at such big-name clubs as
Expo, Sound Factory Bar, The Grand, Warsaw and
Supper Club, just to name a few. 1997 was a red-letter
year for Boris, when he landed his second notable
residency at Carbon, which brought him to the
height of his popularity in the New York City
club scene.
That same year, Boris set his sights on becoming
a producer in the industry. Through his friendship
with Ernie Lake and Bobby Guy of Grammy-nominated
production house Soul Solution, he was introduced
to Doug Beck, a well known and extremely talented
musician. Under the masthead of Boris and Beck,
these two visionaries set the underground scene
on fire with their house remixes of tracks by
such music celebrities as Cindy Lauper, Taylor
Dayne, Shania Twain, Debulah Morgan, Salt-n-Pepa
and Boys II Men. His most recent tracks for Mya
"My First Night" for Interscope Records,
Britney Spears "Sometimes" for Jive
Records, has been buzzing some hype in the industry.
Boris and Beck are currently working on a vast
amount of remixes, one of their biggest projects
is from the well known group "The Fixx",
they have recently finished the remix for "One
Thing Leads To Another".
Along with Boris' busy schedule of DJing and producing,
his reputation continues to grow nationwide. With
his regular out of town stints, such as his monthly
appearances at The Palace in Boston, Massachusetts,
he continues to spin his groundbreaking grooves
to his spellbound audiences. On top of it all,
Boris finds time to regularly spin his turntables
for the New York airwaves of WKTU's underground
house show "The Sanctuary" Saturdays
from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Level 5) and also
be a Billboard reporter.
With his successes in the studio, in the clubs
and on the airwaves, DJ Boris is truly a well
known name in his industry. So where does he go
from here? Boris hopes to discover a songstress,
a diva diamond in the rough, he can mold into
the next Club Superstar. Boris is a force to be
reckoned with in the New York club scene. |
